Living in the same house for over twenty years can get old, even in the north end of Tacoma. This family needed a hardworking updated kitchen to replace the wear, the tear and overall outdated layout.
We eliminated kitchen café table which was pushed into the bump-out, in fact we eliminated the bump-out all together! We also removed the framed pantry to gain more usable space.
The new streamlined wall allowed for a longer kitchen, repositioning windows, subtracting the peninsula while adding an island with eating bar, opening up better circulation… and new focal points; range, sink and glass cabinet. With a mix of milk-painted and stained wood cabinet styles, ceramic tiles, refinished floors and clay lights, this updated kitchen looked right at home.
